Merrill Jean Wright

U.S. Veteran

Merrill Jean Wright, 81, of Killen, passed away May 10, 2012 at his residence after an extended Illness. He was a 50 yr. member of IBEW Local 558, a Veteran of the United States Navy and a member of the Church of Christ. He was an accomplished wood carver and enjoyed bluegrass music.

Survivors include:

Wife: Delores Robertson Wright of Killen

Daughters: Donna Lovelace of Killen and Pam Black and husband Robert of Killen

Sisters: Adgie McMurtrey, Oma Bendall and Helen Martin all of Killen.

Grandchildren: Brad Black (Leigh), Ali Boston (Blake), Robin Davis (Brandon), and Anna Lovelace

Great-grandchildren: Bryant Black, Marley Black, Piper Davis, and Brinlea Davis

He was preceded in death by his parents John Lee and Eliza Jane Wright; sister Lillie Swinea; brothers Hugh and Floyd Wright; and son Benjamin Keith Wright.

Visitation will be Saturday May 12, 2012 from 11:00-1:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00pm with Bro Jerry Reed Clemmons and Judge Leslie Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the North Carolina Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Brad Black, Brandon Davis, Blake Boston, Doug Hamner, Paul Lovelace and Donnie Richardson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be David Swinea, Jerry Swinea, Greg Bendall , Alan Wright, Butch Murphy and Fred Covington.
